I’ve been to my fair share of conventions. Being a Seattle local, I have easy access to lots of them, from the big-budget productions like PAX West and Emerald City Comic Con to the smaller (but growing!) conventions like Geek Girl Con and BrickCon. This will be my third time making the pilgrimage to Indianapolis for Gen Con, which has perpetually proved the highlight of my year. All of this is to say that I have been around the proverbial convention block (and I have the four-day passes to prove it).
So it’s really saying something that I totally lost my mind when I found out what secret project Fishbaugh, Loophole, McDog3, and PeaceandThought have been working on for almost a year: a Lord of the Rings The Card Game Convention called Con of the Rings.
The convention will take place over the weekend of October 12th – 14th at the Fantasy Flight Games Center in Roseville, Minnesota.
LotR LCG is far and away my favorite hobby, in equal parts due to its well crafted gameplay and the friendly community that surrounds it. Con of the Rings will bring both of those things together under the same roof for a few days—a place where we can all meet each other face to face and share in the joys of playing our favorite game together. I honestly can’t think of a better way to spend a weekend!
If that sounds like your idea of a good time too, you can head on over to the Con of the Rings Kickstarter (which has already met its minimum funding, for what it’s worth) to get more details and to pick up your ticket:
I relish the idea of getting to meet some of you nice folks in person while playing my favorite game in the world. Will I see you there?
